Headed to Guatemala

"Sing to the LORD a new song, sing to the LORD, all the earth. Sing to the LORD, praise his name; proclaim his salvation day after day. Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous deeds among all peoples." ~ Psalm 96:1-3

I have been blessed to have the chance to work at Lakeland Public Television, the PBS affiliate, in Bemidji for nearly five years. In my time their I have gain experience in producing media content from video to photography to web-design. Working at the television station has also allowed me to earn the money that I have been using to pay off all of my student loans, and by this summer I will be completely debt free. I am now interested in looking into using the skills that I have gained there to glorify God and further His kingdom. Next month, I have the exciting opportunity to go to Guatemala from March 19 - April 3. I will be ministering with Students International (SI), a Christian mission organization, whose missionaries minister to the people of Guatemala, the Dominican Republic, and Costa Rica. Their missionaries are professionals serving in their area of expertise. They have several different areas of ministry such as: media, education, social work, health care, and agriculture. In my time there, I will be partnering with a missionary on site in the area of media. The goal of the media site is to get involved in the community, provide training for those interested in learning, develop relationships, and develop multimedia services to those who desire it. Will you prayerfully consider partnering with me on this trip? This is a great opportunity to share the Gospel and display the love of God to those in need. I am looking for people who will commit to pray for me as I prepare for the trip, while I am there, and when I return home. I am also in need of people to support me financially. The project will cost around $2,400, which I will need by March 1, 2011. My goal is to receive between five and ten gifts in the $100 to $500 range. I will be traveling to Guatemala with Christy Dainsberg, who is also looking for prayer and financial support. Find out more about how to support Christy and me. If you have any questions about this outreach I would love to talk with you. Please pray about the part God wants you to play in this outreach, and may He bless you for your time and support. From this experience I hope to gain a greater understanding of cross-cultural ministry through media to see if this is something that God may be calling me to do more long-term. I am excited to see where God is leading me! Thank you for your support. May God bless you, Tim Larsonpixelstats trackingpixel
